Last Hoorah for October!

Michelle really put a lot into this piece. The black and white image was overprinted on the computer, giving it an eerie, thought-provoking feel. The computer-generated tags were cut out and edged with black ink. The image was then attached to a beveled glass piece and bound with copper tape. Metal corners, which have been enhanced with a copper Krylon Leafing Pen. were attached. Marvelous, Michelle!

Thinking outside the box....

We are always encouraged to think outside the box, and this time Michelle has gone above and beyond the call. The base for this ATC holder is really one of our hardware pieces for altered arts. Wouldn't this look great sitting on your desk at work with a school photo or in your studio to display an ATC that keeps you inspired? Thanks, Michelle, for such a great idea!

...Michelle Murphy!

Michelle is a mother of two. She has worked in the corporate world for many years, full-time and part-time. She has filled many roles and is currently Accounting Manager. Michelle's family lives in Arlington, TN in a house that is 100+ years old with many renovation projects underway.

Since her childhood, Michelle has had a passion for creating. Many mediums have filled her creativeness over the years. Early childhood started out with good old crayons, paper and paste. Although she has explored many mediums in the past, her current passions are paper arts, stamping, altered arts and mixed media collage.

She has been published in Make it in Minutes: Mini Books by Roxi Phillips and magazine publications. She is currently on the design team for Artistic Outpost and RockCandy Studios.

  With the eagle eye of the treasure hunter that she is, Mary Ann found this interesting wire display piece on a clearance rack. She added some RockCandy Studios Trinkets and Treasures to turn it into a clever Halloween decor piece to welcome October with style!

With a twist a turn and a flick of her magic wand, MaryAnn reversed the piece to create a second collage!

Mary Ann Wilkerson - Cordova, TN.  True Grit - Girl raised in the south.

"Growing up in a small town deep in the south, my imagination  became a very useful tool at an early age.  Art became my passion and outlet.  It started with pot holders, barbie clothes, and nature collages.  As age progressed, along came two children followed by smocked and French hand sewn garments.  I dabbled at trends in arts, but found my true passion in jewelry and altered art.  I am constantly finding odd objects that need to be altered into funky artwork.  I have taught classes in altered books and other arts at Advent Presbyterian Church, Annual Recreation Workshop, and with private groups.  I am active with River City Stampers, Altered Book Club, Meeting of the Muses and other art groups.
